"If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness." St. Therese of Lisieux

Rebecca Therese Rose. Catholic. Joyful. Photographer. Former Cowgirl, current Bobcat. Hufflepuff. Psych major. Enjoys theology of the body, two stepping, all things Disney, Texas, guacamole, country music, and pretty dresses. People think I'm funny, I think they're delusional. I'm a camp counselor, whatever that says about my personality. I pride myself on my Chaco tan. Always looking for an opportunity to wear my cowboy boots. Never fully dressed without a smile.

As for me, I will always have hope.

"Take heart, my daughter; your faith has made you well." Matthew 9:22

You know you’re Catholic when…

You genuflect as you try on dresses in the dressing room to make sure that the dress is modest enough.

Just got back from spending a much needed hour in adoration of our Lord.

It was soooo needed. I love the overwhelming sense of calm that comes after being in His presence. :)

Also, it was sprinkling when I was walking back to my dorm and now it’s pouring. God’s timing. Gotta love it. :)

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.
Majestic sovereign, timeless wisdom, your kindness melts my hard, cold soul.
Handsome lover, selfless giver, your beauty fills my dull, sad eyes.
I am yours, you made me.
I am yours, you called me.
I am yours, you saved me.
I am yours, you loved me.
I will never leave your presence.
Give me death, give me life.
Give me sickness, give me health.
Give me honor, give me shame.
Give me weakness, give me strength.
I will have whatever you give. Amen.

Stuff Catholic Girls Say

IT IS RIDICULOUS HOW ACCURATE THIS IS

Lord, I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof...

Blog post I wrote on the New Roman Missal…I’m alllllll over social media

Looking through old journals…

I’m glad I journaled so much. I love seeing how far I’ve come. And how my perspective on life slowly changed over time once Jesus introduced Himself to me. It’s beautiful. Even if I was so terribly awkward and overdramatic (but what 13-year-old isn’t?)

I found this that I wrote down after the spring retreat of my sophomore year:
“I look at the cross,
And I can’t help but
ask, ‘am I worth it?’”
I still wonder that today. Except today I can hear Jesus telling me that I AM worth it. Even when I don’t feel like it. I always am. And He will always fight for me.

It’s one of the many reasons I’m in love with Him. :)

Okay, yes… this is from Sister Act. I wish I could actually see nuns singing this.

I watch this on every Marian feast day. It makes me so happy.

a testimony on being Catholic and gay

As some one who loves my friends and family members who have come out, I have nothing just compassion and admiration for this brave writer.

such a beautiful and powerful witness.
